Our organisation comprises of a multidisciplinary team of health and recreation staff who are passionate about activating the physical, social, and emotional potential of each of our members.

As Active Eight’s programs, services, and member base has continued to grow exponentially since our doors opened in June 2018, our doors are always open to meeting like-minded practitioners, therapy assistants, and casual staff.

  • #Occupational Therapists

  • We are seeking skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapists to join our team on a full-time basis (part-time position also available!). This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, helping clients achieve their rehabilitation and functional goals. 

    Your key duties will include, but not be limited to:

    • Conducting comprehensive assessments, including Functional Capacity Assessments

    • Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans

    • Collaborating with clients to help them achieve their goals

    • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation

    • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care

    • Engaging in ongoing professional development and contribute to clinic initiatives

  • The successful candidate will be a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist who is committed to providing client-centered, neuro-affirming care and will have:

    • 4+ years of Occupational Therapy experience preferred but not essential

    • Relevant Qualification in Occupational Therapy and full registration with AHPRA

    • NDIS Workers Screening Check and Working With Children Check

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Initiative, strong clinical reasoning skills, and a collaborative approach

    • A strong commitment to ongoing professional development as well as high quality, evidence-based practice

    • A fun and enthusiastic approach to engaging and working with children and young people

    • A passion for working with clients and families through a family-centered & strengths-based approach to provide the outcomes they desire

    • Drivers' license and own vehicle

Type: Volunteer and casual employment opportunities available

Background: Suits students studying part or full time in a range of disciplines

  • Active Eight is always on the lookout for passionate volunteers and inspiring casual staff who can help us deliver fun and engaging sessions and activities for children & young people of all abilities.

    • Program & holiday facilitators (assist the delivery of super fun weekly activities such as ninja warrior, gymnastics, yoga or art classes and/or school holiday programs)

    • Dance & drama assistants (assist in the delivery of life-changing dance and drama sessions in our very own studio spaces)

    • Administration assistants (assist in running the day-to-day administrative tasks of A8)

    • Allied health assistants (work under direct and indirect supervision of A8’s experienced therapy team in a specialty area such as physiotherapy, speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, art therapy, exercise physiology)

    • Opportunities available Monday - Saturday

    • Central Toowong location next to Toowong Village
